Sciatica

Is the Latin word for “discomfort” down the back of the leg” Sciatica is referred pain often caused by trapping the sciatic nerve in the lower back. The sciatic nerve travels from the bottom of the back down past the buttocks and through the rear of the leg. Sciatica is pain travelling this nerve and is a fairly normal type of back discomfort and is usually caused by stress on the sciatic nerve because of a herniated or bulging disc. The pain from sciatica can be anything from rare and annoying to extreme and crippling.

Usually, it effects only one side, the pain radiating through the buttock and along the leg and is often linked with a nagging pain on one side of the buttocks, pain in the leg and/or buttock that may be worse when seated. Other sensations are a burning or tingling along the leg, weakness, numbness or problems using the leg or foot or a shooting pain that makes it hard to stand up.

Though sciatica can be very painful and uncomfortable, it is rare that long lasting nerve harm (tissue injury) results. Most injury is because of swelling and will improve within a period of time. Nerve pain is caused by a mixture of compaction and inflammation on the nerve root, and treatment is centred on allieviating both of these issues. Back pain is extremelly uncomfortable and this amazing technique helps relieve the pain and get people back to their normal existence.
